Time: 4:30p.m. onwards
Location: 440 Upper Edward St, Spring Hill
Cost: $20 per person
Bookings: e-mail to hello@goodfortunetrust.org OR phone/SMS to 0431 887705

Please book by Wednesday 21st so we can organise the catering and make sure there is enough to go round. The party will start around 4.30p.m. but as there will be no formal presentation, there is no need for a punctual arrival.

Kuzho Lama, Geshe Tashi Tsering will be our special guest of honour. This is an opportunity for you to share in Kuzho Lama's vision for a school of Buddhist Science in Brisbane and to hear more about his vision from Kuzho Lama himself.

You will be able to help support Kuzho Lama's vision by contributing in any number of ways.

Your $20 ticket provides you with an assortment of delicious and exotic non-alcoholic drinks, a yummy variety of both sweet and savory treats and some excellent company! We will also offer chai, coffees, tea and cakes. The proceeds from this event will help support the establishment and further development of Kuzho Lama's School of Buddhist Science and his continuing visits to Australia as well as the costs associated with putting on the weekend course for free.

Make a bid in the Silent Auction of custom-framed photographs from the 'Images of Tibet' series. These beautiful images are the work of Kuzho Lama's main attendant, Buddhist nun Tenzin Tshering, taken on her travels with Kuzho Lama to India and Tibet over the years.

At the venue there is also a Gift Shop full of gorgeous things: malas blessed by Kuzho Lama; Tibetan and Indian handicrafts; Tibetan incense made by Tibetan monks in India; and a variety of other goodies, the proceeds from which all go to the Good Fortune Trust's projects supporting Tibetan monks and nuns in India and Tibet.

Dates: Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August, 2010

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: 440 Upper Edward St, Spring Hill

Cost: BY DONATION

BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL!

phone: 0431 887705 - SMS or leave voice message

The subject for this weekend course will be Kuzho Lama, Geshe Tashi Tsering's interpretation of the Buddha's teachings about consciousness and the nature of existence, viewed from a secular or scientific perspective: 'Buddhist Science'.

The purpose of learning about this is to educate our minds so that we are able to decrease the many mistakes made by being confused about reality. In order to be able to do that, we must understand and identify those mistakes, hence the need for education.

After almost 20 years' experience teaching in Australia, Kuzho Lama has a remarkable ability to communicate even subtle points of philosophy to Westerners in practical and accessible ways. This course is for anyone interested in Buddhist ideas about the nature of being and knowing - Buddhist epistemology. Everyone is welcome and senior students will be available to help new-comers with any difficult points. This is a great opportunity to hear profoundly beneficial subjects explained with warmth and humour by a true Buddhist master.
